I am curious as to your thoughts on what kind of multivitamin powders are best, or if there is a need for such a thing?
It is always best to get nutrients (carbohydrate, protein, fat, vitamins and minerals) from food. That being said, supplements can boost nutrient intake and provide the added coverage when our diet is less than optimal or our needs for certain nutrients are higher.
Powdered supplements provide an alternative for people who may have difficulty swallowing pills or who need to avoid certain ingredients found in encapsulated products. Powdered supplements can either be mixed with food or water or taken as directed.
Depending on the way the powder is packaged (in individual packets (better) or where one has to measure out each dose (tricky)) the key is to get the right dose at the right time. With powders you have to measure yourself, the concern is that they settle over time which makes getting a consistent and accurate dose a guessing game.
