July Produce Report

It's July and blueberries are here! Yes, local blueberries are ready and they are reporting a bumper crop this year. Stock up right away for berries that have a taste with a hint of tartness, or wait until closer to mid-month for them to get even sweeter. Okanagan apricots have also just arrived, and they will be in great shape for freezing or canning. Peaches are here too! These early ones will be a fantastic eating fruit, whereas later in the month, canning peaches or free stone varieties will be ready.

July is an amazing time of the year to enjoy both local and BC produce. If you are wondering what we define as "local" and "BC", ‘locally grown’ means the Fraser Valley for our stores in Vancouver and Port Coquitlam, whereas in Nanaimo, local is the Island. BC means the balance of BC where we find the Okanagan, Kootenays and Pemberton Valley!

Other fresh BC and local produce that is arriving daily:

Warba white nugget potatoes
Lettuce red and green
Fava Beans
Green and Yellow Beans
Bunch carrots
Tomato Hot House
Peppers Hot House
